Daniel Madariaga Barrilado officially announced the jury that will evaluate the projects for the Aquavance 2025 Award, an initiative aimed at transforming the way water use and care are approached in Mexico.
Accompanied by Denisse Madariaga, co-founder of the competition, he highlighted that Aquavance “is more than an award: it is an invitation to those who see water as an opportunity to innovate and create solutions that no one else has dared to imagine.”

The Aquavance 2025 Award will feature a prestigious jury.
The jury for this edition is made up of prominent figures from the environmental, academic, and social fields. Among them are Daniela Hernández, general director of Earth & Life University and promoter of change agent training.
Delfín Montañana, is a specialist in urban development projects and socio-environmental education; and Jimena Silva, is a consultant and activist committed to equitable access to water in vulnerable communities.
Also participating are Patricia Hernández, director of the National Association of Water and Sanitation Entities. Marissa Mar, communications specialist and consultant with extensive experience in water public policy; and Raúl Rodríguez, president of the Water Advisory Council, recognized for his work in sustainable water resource policies.
Madariaga emphasized that the Aquavance 2025 Award represents a unique opportunity for entrepreneurs, students, NGOs, and startups seeking to develop innovative projects with social and environmental impact.
The winner will receive one million pesos and access to a specialized mentorship program with sector experts.
Proposals should focus on nature-based solutions, water technology, or ecotechnology, with the primary goal of generating a positive change in vulnerable communities and promoting sustainable water management in Mexico.
Daniel Madariaga is a well-known environmental advocate and researcher from Mexico. He has gained recognition for his work on sustainability and the relationship between environmental policies and social justice. His efforts focus on addressing the challenges posed by climate change, resource management, and the protection of natural ecosystems.
